A Fight for Nonpartisan & Neutral Reporting

Hello, Readers!

I am Ally Bolender, a sophomore student majoring in Journalism and Mass Communication with a minor in writing at Texas State University.

I fell in love with English literature my senior year of high school, and carried the passion for reading and writing into my college academics. After taking technical writing classes, such as editing and professional writing, I found myself wanting to take on a professional writing career in journalism where I can showcase my love for writing. I especially enjoy reading literary journalism and horror fiction.

 

I am fascinated with the medias, but irritated over the vast amount of misinformation that comes along with it: biased reporting and fake news. As you would expect from a  journalism major, I believe in fighting against misinformation and informing readers of the truth. I believe once readers learn how to differentiate bias from neutral reports, the media is their oyster.
